The roof of a mall in west Phoenix partially collapsed and flights are delayed at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport as powerful thunderstorms swept through the region Nov. 19.

The Phoenix Fire Department confirmed the roof collapse at Desert Sky Mall at 75th Avenue and Thomas Road.

Significant amounts of hail fell west of downtown Phoenix, causing what looked like a layer of snow over parts of the desert landscape.
