LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
A new public park is open in downtown Louisville, and city leaders say it represents far more than new green space.
The project is one piece of Mayor Craig Greenberg’s broader strategy to revitalize the city’s core, strengthen public safety, and boost economic growth.
The park, called LOUMED Commons, sits on East Chestnut Street in the heart of the Louisville Medical and Education District. It’s designed as a gathering place for anyone who works, studies, receives care, or visits the downtown medical campus.
“In this particular space, it’s a sanctuary for our mental health,” one speaker said during the ceremony.
