PHOENIX — After months of resistance, President Donald Trump has signed a bill to force the Department of Justice (DOJ) to release files on disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein on Wednesday.
“I HAVE JUST SIGNED THE BILL TO RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES!” Trump wrote in a 6:20 p.m. announcement on Truth Social.
He started his statement by declaring that Epstein was a lifelong Democrat. It marked a huge 180 from his previous declarations that the concern over the Epstein files was a “hoax.”
His signing of the bill was made possible after both chambers of Congress overwhelmingly approved legislation to force the DOJ to release its files related to the infamous sex trafficking case involving Epstein on Tuesday.
