There were hardly enough small plastic chairs to accommodate the crowd that arrived to the Pike Township Government Center on the evening of Nov. 19. A petition addressed to American Tower sat next to a sign-in sheet.
That's the company looking to build a 4,400-square-foot unmanned data center on Walnut Drive in Pike Township, southwest of the intersection of West 79th Street and Township Line Road .
The American Tower data center is the fourth to be proposed in Indianapolis within the last year. All have been met with overwhelming community opposition. So far, overwhelming opposition appears to be the reaction to this latest proposal, too.
