PLATTSBURGH, Vt. (WCAX) - New apartments on the horizon in Plattsburgh.

Roughly six new market-rate apartments will be built next to existing ones at 15 Hamilton Street, bringing the total to eight.

Clinton County’s Industrial Development Agency executive director says KLM Development LLC is building them through the IDA’s new tax policy, which will gradually increase the property tax over the coming years.

“This is a local developer born and raised here. They have created other housing units here, so they know what they are doing. They know what the people want and need here, and so it is really exciting to have our tax incentive [go] to a local developer trying to meet that need,” said Clinton County IDA executive director Molly Ryan.
