Trinity United Methodist Church volunteers planned to deliver grocery products to supply 168 bags of groceries to those in need on Tuesday, Nov. 18. The volunteers took the food to four area agencies, where volunteers would pack the goods in brown grocery bags to pass on to their clients.
“It’s an annual thing,” explained Dave Arns, who helped coordinate the project. “Our church donated more than $5,500 to this project. The does not include the pork and the certificate.”
He was referring to a pound of fresh pork for each recipient, as well as a $15 gift certificate for Fareway.
“The more money that came in, the more we could raise the amount of the gift card that went in there,” Arns said.
