The OUC race weekend in Orlando will feature separate days for the half-marathon and Lake Eola 5K, with the latter supporting Second Harvest Food Bank through the Share Your Christmas drive.
For years, runners tackling the OUC half-marathon and Lake Eola 5K have lined up next to each other at the starting line, but this year, the races have their own special day downtown.
Runners will lace up for the half-marathon on Saturday, Dec. 6, and the 5K the next day, Sunday, Dec. 7.
Chris Hughes from Track Shack said, "It's just a little extra element of excitement. It's a full weekend-long event of fun instead of just one day."
This year, the 5K is benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida through WESH 2's 40th annual Share Your Christmas food and fund drive.
