Staff at Karrinyup Shopping Centre will once again be directed to park elsewhere during the busy Christmas period, with the centre’s parking set to shrink by 170 bays over the coming weeks.
UniSuper, owners of Karrinyup Shopping Centre, have lodged a development application with the City of Stirling to continue using the oval at Karrinyup Primary School as a temporary overflow site for off-site staff parking, to ease congestion at the centre.
If approved, this arrangement, which has been in place for more than a decade, would allow about 411 cars to park at the school from mid-December to the end of the year and would continue until the end of 2029.
The oval car park would remain for the sole use of Karrinyup Shopping Centre staff and not be open to members of the public.
