ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - In the latest of a flurry of moves the Atlanta Braves made on Wednesday, the team acquired infielder Mauricio Dubón from the Houston Astros.
Shortstop Nick Allen will head to Houston in return.
Dubón, 31, slashed .241/.289/.355 in 133 games with the Astros in 2025 and earned his second Gold Glove award in two seasons, both times as a utility player. In parts of four seasons with Houston, Dubón recorded a .659 OPS and helped bring a World Series trophy to Houston in 2022.
Dubón has appeared defensively at seven different positions, including 107 games at shortstop and 214 at second base. He’s made at least one appearance at every defensive position besides pitcher and catcher.
