Atlanta school bus delayed due to ‘challenging’ route, principal says

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — An Atlanta Public Schools bus was delayed Wednesday night, according to the school’s principal.

Sutton Middle School Principal Dominique R. Merriweather said in a letter to parents that a substitute bus driver pulled over near the intersection of Colonial Homes Drive and Roswell Road “out of an abundance of caution.”

Atlanta police “initially arrived on the scene in response to what they believed could be an incident. We appreciate their quick response, vigilance, and commitment to keeping safety first as they assessed the situation,” the letter said.
