INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into the devastating drowning of a young Tamworth girl in a horror crash two months ago.
Eleven-year-old Grace died after she was pulled unresponsive from the submerged wreckage of the black SUV which plunged into a dam after crashing on the outskirts of Tenterfield on the afternoon of September 10.
Despite emergency efforts to save her, she died at the scene.
Her mother, Dr Raelene Gill, a Tamworth chiropractor, was behind the wheel of the car and was pulled from the water and treated by paramedics at the scene off the Bruxner Highway about 3.30pm.
She was then taken to hospital but has since been released.
Since the crash, police have been trying to piece together what caused the black SUV to lose control, leave the road and hit a tree.
