OROVILLE, Calif. - The Butte County District Attorney's Office says that 37-year-old Dale Eugene Graybeal of Chico was handed down a sentence of nine years in state prison on Wednesday for the violent 2024 felony assault of a man in the Safeway parking lot.
The District Attorney's Office said in a press release that Graybeal's sentence was reduced despite his previous admission of guilt during his August trial and a history of felony convictions.
Graybeal was initially facing up to 16 years for his role in the brutal attack, which authorities say took place the morning after Halloween last year in a Safeway parking lot in Chico.
