SHASTA LAKE, Calif. - A 911 call led to a precautionary lockdown at Central Valley High School on Wednesday. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office responded swiftly after dispatchers received an incomplete call with concerning comments heard in the background.

The call, traced to an area near the school, mentioned a gun, prompting deputies to act out of caution. Deputies conducted a thorough investigation and found no credible threat, allowing the lockdown to be lifted.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office emphasized their commitment to student safety and encouraged the community to report any suspicious activity.

They also expressed gratitude to Shasta County Probation and the Shasta Area Safety Communications Agency for their support.
