SHREVEPORT, La. — Shreveport firefighters extinguished a fire at the Sumo Supreme Buffet restaurant on Youree Drive tonight after responding to an activated fire alarm around 8 p.m.

About 45 firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the building, originating from a vent hood that had caught fire.

Crews evacuated everyone safely before putting out the fire within minutes. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported. The Shreveport Fire Department is investigating the cause of the vent hood fire.
