We'll soon hear from NSW Liberal party leader and state opposition leader Mark Speakman .

He called a snap media conference after speculation his position was being called into question.

Mr Speakman is expected to stand down .

Earlier today, he declared he would need to be "blasted out" of the role, but his stance shifted this afternoon when it became clear his support had eroded.
