Eight months after a groundbreaking ceremony, the Bannock County Youth Development center is officially open.

“This brand-new facility provides a clean and warm environment for students to come to school, find ways to be excited about their education and work towards a high school diploma," says Dan Montgomery, Assistant Chief Juvenile Probation Officer for Bannock County Juvenile Justice.

The Youth Development Center is operated by Bannock County Juvenile Justice in partnership with the Pocatello Chubbuck School District. It is a day treatment program that supports teens at high risk of school expulsion or other issues. The program provides classroom education, behavioral intervention, and exposure to extracurricular activities.
