Indian-born cheetah Mukhi has made history by giving birth to five cubs at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, marking a significant achievement in India’s cross-continent cheetah restoration project.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced this milestone on social media, noting that both the mother and her cubs are healthy and doing well.

Mukhi, born at Kuno National Park and now 33 months old, is the first Indian-born female cheetah to reproduce, setting a new precedent for Project Cheetah. This success signals that cheetahs born in India are adapting well to their environment and shows promise for the long-term sustainability of cheetah populations in Indian habitats.
