Recent data from the Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) reveals that over 1.7 million people across the UK were receiving additional financial assistance via Attendance Allowance by the end of February this year. The benefit is worth either £73.90 or £110.40 each week, tax-free, with the money intended to assist elderly people with daily living costs.
Many recipients may be unaware that there are various changes in circumstances that must be notified to the DWP's Attendance Allowance helpline on 0800 731 0122 immediately - particularly if your condition changes or you are admitted to hospital - as these could impact eligibility or payments.
