NHS services in Greater Manchester could be cut as staff numbers and budgets will be slashed. Bosses have warned the region's NHS 'won't be able to do what it has been doing' amid government reforms to staffing and budget cuts.
Around 1,600 NHS staff in the region have spent months in limbo as the government announced deep cuts to the workforce - but failed to approve redundancy schemes that would make clear the roles at risk.
Today, NHS Greater Manchester ICB announced how its redundancy scheme can finally begin on Monday, November 24. It comes after months of Greater Manchester health leaders asking the government for the go-ahead and funding to start the process, in order to give their employees clarity over their future.
