The local body elections in Dadra and Nagar Haveli were held on 5 November 2025, and the outcome has drawn sharp reactions. The results were almost entirely one sided. Congress leaders say most of their nomination forms were rejected during scrutiny, and they point out that the venue for scrutiny was changed without proper notice. They believe this tilted the field before the campaign even began.

The administration insists that the rules were followed, but the numbers speak for themselves. Out of 122 seats across the Union Territory, BJP candidates won 91 seats without a contest. That is three out of every four seats decided by default. Finally, The BJP won a combined total of 107 out of 122 seats across all municipal councils, district and gram panchayats in the UT.
