The 2025 season has been the best one yet for Alabama State football under coach Eddie Robinson Jr.

For the first time since 2013, the Hornets have won eight games during the regular season and currently stand second in SWAC East conference standings behind reigning HBCU national champions Jackson State.

Alabama State easily has been the best FCS Division I football program in the state of Alabama, and the second best Division I program by overall record in Alabama. Of course, it's apples to oranges when comparing FCS programs to FBS programs, but credit the Hornets for putting the city of Montgomery on notice in the 2025 season.

If the Hornets haven't caught the attention of the state of Alabama, they've certainly caught the eyes of the NFL, eight teams to be exact.
