A pilot program to provide mobile community resources has been launched in Pahoa using a van operated by local nonprofit Neighborhood Place of Puna.
About 35 people were joined Monday by county officials like Mayor Kimo Alameda and County Council member Ashley Kierkiewicz for the blessing of the Mobile Family Resource Center van at Connection Point Church of Nazarene in Keaau.
Program Coordinator Chi- Ashley Davis and Lead Compassionate Engagement Specialist Lokelani Diego, who will be training the staff operating the van, were blessed along with the vehicle and its shelves stocked with supplies such as diapers.
