Nando’s has said it is expanding its UK restaurant openings as the chicken chain reported higher sales and profits for the past year.
The South-African-owned company has announced plans to open 14 new Nando’s restaurants across the UK over the current year to February.
The piri-piri chicken business has said it also intends to expand its wider international footprint, following a growth in sales over the half-year to August. Nando’s said it has been “encouraged by customer demand”.
The company said it has been seeking to manage increased cost pressures on the group through productivity improvements and measures such as rolling out energy efficient grills in the UK and Ireland to reduce energy costs.
