A man was slashed with a Stanley knife in a vicious row at a Tesco car park in front of horrified shoppers.

Pavel Stefanovic launched his attack after he was approached by a fellow Lithuanian at the Meir Park store in Stoke. The two men went outside and Stefanovic produced the blade before slashing at his victim leaving him with several cuts including to his hand, arm, legs and nose, Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard.

Now Stefanovic, 39, of Meir , has been jailed for 29 months and the sentence means he is likely to be deported. Prosecutor Jamie Scott said the victim was shopping in Tesco with his wife on the afternoon of December 30, 2022 when he recognised the defendant from a YouTube video.
