A police chief in Gloucester County is reminding parents about the dangers posed by children riding electric bikes following two recent crashes in his town.
A 15-year-old boy broke both wrists in an electric motorcycle crash on Monday afternoon in Washington Township, police said.
That follows another crash involving a 13-year-old e-scooter rider who suffered minor injuries two weeks ago in the same community.
Washington Township Police Chief Patrick Gurcsik urged young e-bike riders and their parents to consider the risks of the high-powered vehicles.
“These E-motorcycles and high-speed E-bikes and E-scooters continue to be a growing safety concern in Washington Township,” Gurcsik wrote in a Facebook post. “They may look like fun recreational devices, but many can reach motorcycle
