WISCASSET, Maine — Police are investigating an armed home invasion reported Wednesday evening on Lincoln Street and a separate downtown burglary earlier in the week.
Shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday, a man knocked on the door of a Lincoln Street residence and asked a woman if he could use her phone, Wiscasset police said in a social media post . When the resident turned to get the phone, the man walked inside, displayed a firearm, and told her it was a robbery, the post stated.
Police said the woman was able to escape and ran to a neighbor’s home to call for help.
Officers searched the residence and attempted a K-9 track, but the search was unsuccessful.
