The Friends of Paris Mountain, a volunteer nonprofit supporting Paris Mountain State Park, is launching a fundraiser starting Dec. 2 to fund rebuilding the state park’s amphitheater stage, which was destroyed by the remnants of Hurricane Helene in 2024.

Donations are being sought to purchase building materials for the project. A $50 donation through the nonprofit’s website will sponsor a personalized cedar plank that will be used as part of the stage backdrop.

One of the goals in rebuilding the stage is to facilitate the return of the Music in the Woods concert series. The Paris Mountain amphitheater and surrounding park were built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps.

The stage wrecked by last year’s storm was built in 2006. For more information or to donate, visit friendsof
