Failed: Annexation for future subdivision

Council voted five to two to reject a request to annex 31.1 acres on West Georgia Road. The applicant, Toll Brothers, planned to use 25 acres to develop Toney Farms, a 57-unit subdivision.

Ahead of the vote, several River Shoals subdivision residents mentioned concerns such as the safety in that curve of West Georgia Road. A representative of the neighborhood homeowners association also said that attorneys were still discussing if the proposed subdivision would be able to connect its emergency access road to River Shoals.
