A locally owned soda shop on Frankfort Avenue has closed.
Fizz District , which opened in March at 3130 Frankfort Ave., announced on its social channels Nov. 19 that it was "closed permanently."
"Thank you for welcoming us into your lives. We're grateful for every visit, every smile and every sip we shared," the post states .
Fizz District was known for its hand-crafted sodas, bringing "real and clean ingredients" to create classic flavors like root beer and cherry cola to Louisville, The Courier Journal previously reported . The trend is sometimes called "dirty soda," which combines a soda base, cream and sometimes an additional flavor.
The dirty soda trend went viral in 2024 after celebrities like Olivia Rodrigo posted about it on TikTok , and its appearance on reality TV
