The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced inflationary adjustments to several visa and border-related fees effective January 1, 2026, under provisions of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (HR-1). Under HR-1, DHS must annually revise certain immigration-related fees to reflect inflation.
DHS has announced the inflation-adjusted immigration fees for the Electronic Visa Update System (EVUS), the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA), and the parole fee for non-citizens allowed into the US temporarily.
While these specific fee changes (EVUS, ESTA, parole) might not affect all Indian visa applicants (for instance, many Indians do not use the Visa Waiver Program), some will feel the impact. Those who apply for parole into the US will see their costs rise modestly.
