KALKASKA — A proposal to build a multi-billion-dollar data center in Kalkaska County has been dropped after public feedback, according to Rocklocker LLC and Kalkaska Go.
In a Nov. 19 news release, Matt Rine of Rocklocker detailed why the plans have been scrapped.
“We sought public input because we want to be partners with the community we live and work in. And we heard you. That is why my company and Kalkaska Go will end its pursuit of a data center,” Rine said. “We are grateful we had the opportunity to engage in public discourse. It is important to work together as a community when making decisions about the future, even when there is disagreement.”
The informational meeting scheduled for Thursday evening in Coldsprings Township has been cancelled.
