HBO has renewed “ A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms ” for Season 2.
The renewal comes ahead of the series premiere, which is slated for Jan. 18, 2026. The second season of the half-hour series will debut in 2027. “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” serves as a prequel to “ Game of Thrones ” and is set roughly 100 years before the events of the mothership show. It is based on George RR Martin’s “Tales of Dunk and Egg” novellas, with Variety first reporting the show was in development in 2021. It was officially picked up to series in 2023.
The series follows the adventures of Westerosi hedge knight Ser Duncan “Dunk” the Tall and his diminutive squire Egg. Peter Claffey stars as Ser Duncan, while Dexter Sol Ansell plays Egg.
