Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield, the legendary Stone Roses bassist, has died at the age of 63.
‘It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce the sad passing of my brother. Gary Mani Mounfield RIP,’ his brother Greg announced on Facebook.
He added in the comment section: ‘Reunited with his beautiful wife Imelda’
The Daily Mail reports the Primal Scream bassist is understood to have died at home after collapsing. Family sources say that an ambulance was called but he couldn’t be revived.
According to the publication, sources told Noel and Liam Gallagher of Mani’s death on Thursday afternoon, hours before Greg posted the announcement on social media.
Fellow Stone Roses musician and lead singer of the band Ian Brown has posted in memory of Mounfield this afternoon.
