TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Construction began Wednesday for the 100-Acre Wood Bike Park.
The area has been a trouble spot for homelessness for years and Tuesday, the city completed the final phase of cleanup in the area, removing the last homeless encampments.
The pre-construction phase started Wednesday with multiple construction vehicles and police cars driving around the area, as well as garbage trucks picking up trash left behind after the cleanup.
The City’s Parks & Recreation Department said donated materials like gravel and dirt were delivered on site as they wrap up their bidding and permitting processes.
