CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Border Patrol agents participating in operation “Charlotte’s Web” have left the city, federal and law-enforcement sources confirmed to WBTV on Thursday morning.
Agents began making arrests in Charlotte on Saturday, Nov. 15, and arrested more than 250 undocumented people, according to a Nov. 19 shared by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Of those arrested, federal officials said “numerous” had “extensive immigration and criminal histories.”
Before the operation began, CBS News that Charlotte’s Web was expected to be short and would last only about a week. Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino was spotted in the Charlotte area during the operation, as was expected.
