Song Sung Blue is about a Neil Diamond tribute band. No, really. Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman are in it. Someone managed to get them a Gotham Independent Film Award this year — apparently already decided, but not handed out until Dec. 1 — in the category of “Musical Tribute,” which does not appear to have any history at this ceremony and therefore is definitely made up to get Kate and Hugh to the ceremony, right? Do we think this movie is any good? I sincerely do hope that the Golden Globes at least get desperate in the musical/comedy category and give this a nod, because Kate Hudson veers between looking super and looking bonkers, and I would be happy to sit on the edge of my seat about it come early January.
