An Alabama-based company will soon benefit from a package of more than $150 million contracts going out to suppliers in 10 states to support reshoring efforts in American manufacturing.
GE Appliances today announced the move, which involves companies supplying steel, resins, parts and components.
The elements will support the company’s new washer and washer/dryer plant being built in Louisville, Ky. Earlier this year, GE Appliances announced a $490 million investment, there as part of a $3 billion reinvestment in American manufacturing.
At that time, the company announced it will ramp up production immediately at its top-freezer refrigerator plant in Decatur, producing six different 22 cubic feet models.
