Kieran Tierney admits it was 'mental' to hear Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer congratulate him in the House of Commons.
On Wednesday, the Arsenal-supporting Labour leader took the time to congratulate the national side on their dramatic qualification for the 2026 World Cup and name-dropped ex-Gunner Tierney for his stunning stoppage time strike that sent Scotland on the way to a 4-2 victory over Denmark.
The Prime Minister said: "I'd like to start by congratulating Scotland on their magnificent victory last night, they've qualified for the World Cup for the first time since 1998.
"They qualified with fantastic goals, including a cracker from former Arsenal player Kieran Tierney who was always a great favourite with the fans.”
