Country music artist Zach Bryan shared in an emotional statement to fans on Wednesday that he’s been sober for two months while opening up about his mental health.
The 29-year-old shared the news via Instagram , with a photograph from his solo 20-day motorcycle journey across the U.S.
Bryan said the trip inspired him to become sober and seek guidance.
“At the end of this ride, I was sitting in a parking lot in Seattle, Washington thinking, ‘I really need some [expletive] help,” he said.
Bryan, who served in the military for more than a decade before becoming a public figure in country music, expressed gratitude for his career but admitted to a deeper sense of discontent that he was afraid of showing “because that’s not who I am or how I was raised.”
