A woman is expected to make a full recovery after being stabbed in the neck by a man in Winchendon, according to the town’s police department.
Police responded to 5 School St. on Thursday at 1 a.m., where two officers found a woman who was stabbed in the neck with a kitchen knife.
A man was sitting inside a locked car in the driveway, police said, and as officers approached the man, he began stabbing himself in the neck.
Police broke the window and gained access to the man who was eventually subdued with a Taser, according to Winchendon police.
Police arrested Jack Newbrough, 25, of Athol, in connection with the incident.
The woman, who is related to Newbrough, was brought to UMass Memorial Medical Center and is expected to make a full recovery, police said.
