MCFARLAND, Wis. — The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office has released the name of the person who died in a shooting on Madison's northside Monday.
The Madison Police Department said that officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Brentwood Parkway near Marina Park roughly at 2:45 p.m. and found J'Marr M. Willis, 25, of Madison, lying on the road. He had been suffering from a gunshot wound and died at the hospital that same day.
A forensic autopsy was completed on Tuesday, although the cause and manner of death were pending as of Thursday morning. Additional testing was underway.
Police detained a 35-year-old man as a person of interest Tuesday near the Dane County Regional Airport during a high-risk stop. He is currently held at the Dane County Jail on a Department of Corrections
