MADISON (WKOW) -- The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office released the name of the man who was shot and killed on Madison's north side on Monday.
25-year-old J-Marr M. Mills died at a hospital. According to the Medical Examiner's Office, the cause and manner of his death are pending, and the office is doing additional testing.
Madison police reported the shooting happened on Brentwood Parkway shortly before 2:45 Monday afternoon. When officers got to the scene, they found Mills lying in the road with a gunshot wound. Police believe the shooting was targeted.
Officers took a person of interest into custody Monday night, but that person has not been charged. Police also have not released that person's name.
