The New York Yankees entered the 2025 season expected to have one of the top bullpens in baseball, but that didn't end up being the case.
New York finished the regular season with the 23rd-ranked bullpen ERA at 4.37, despite finishing at No. 6 in 2024 and then adding a bona fide star in Devin Williams in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers. Williams is a two-time Trevor Hoffman National League Reliever of the Year Award winner, but Yankees fans didn't see that version of him throughout the 2025 campaign. He finished the season with a career-worst 4.79 ERA in 67 outings. Before that, he had an ERA above 1.93 since 2021.
