MANCHESTER, N.H. —

The 40th annual Toys for Tots campaign is now underway in New Hampshire with a goal of making the holidays happier for tens of thousands of children.

At the Mall of New Hampshire on Thursday, Santa's sleigh was already filled with toys as the Marine Corps Reserve launched the 40th year of its campaign.

Last year, Toys for Tots made the holidays possible for more than 28,000 children in southern New Hampshire, distributing 60,000 toys.

"There are a lot of children out there," said Santa Claus, who was getting his picture taken with children at the mall. "We want to make sure everyone wakes up to a warm, good morning with a tree full of toys."
