Three-time Olympian Jessie Diggins has announced her retirement from cross-country ski racing.
The Minnesota native shared this week that she will hang up her skis after the 2025-26 season. She plans to compete in the Milan Cortina Winter Games in February, though the U.S. team hasn't yet been named, and end her 15-year career with the World Cup Finals in Lake Placid, N.Y. in March.
"It’s going to be hard to step away from this sport and team that I love so much, but it also feels right in my heart, and I’m so excited to open a new chapter in my life," Diggins wrote in an announcement posted to social media on Wednesday.
"Skiing has given me more joy, challenge, courage and community than I could have ever imagined, which is why I want to take you all on this final year with me."
