Calgary’s economy is projected to grow at a faster pace than the rest of the country next year, even while trade tensions, geopolitical instability and shifting domestic policy are creating uncertainty for the city, a new forecast suggests.

Calgary Economic Development said in its latest outlook that it expects the city’s economy will expand by 2.4 per cent — close to double the national average of 1.3 per cent — thanks in part to sectors outside of the energy sector, including technology.
