Augi Williams made the decision to sign with Riverhounds SC just prior to the season thinking he might have an opportunity to win a championship.

Now the 28-year-old forward is one win away from making it happen.

“It’s a great feeling,” Williams said. “I was so close in 2023, so in my head, it’s like unfinished business.”

Willams is the only current player on the Riverhounds roster to have appeared in a USL Championship title game, as he did when he was with Charleston Battery in 2023 when the team lost to Phoenix Rising FC in penalties. But he will get a second chance at his first title on Saturday at noon when the Eastern Conference champion Riverhounds travel to Oklahoma to play Western Conference champion FC Tulsa in the final.
