Authorities are investigating after a male pedestrian was fatally struck by a semi truck Wednesday night on Interstate 94 near 12 Mile Road in Roseville.

The incident took place about 10 p.m. when Roseville police and a fire crew were dispatched to eastbound I-94 near Martin Road for reports of a crash involving a pedestrian.

After officers arrived on scene, they requested a total closure of the freeway. The shutdown resulted in numerous motorists being caught in a traffic jam. Drivers were directed to exit at 11 Mile Road and allowed to get back on at 12 Mile.
