Approaching the new year, Boise City Council capped off the appeal process for Interfaith Sanctuary with deafening silence at Tuesday’s meeting.

The ongoing battle between the Boise shelter and a neighborhood association made its way to city council yet again. The Veterans Park Neighborhood Association submitted a request for reconsideration of Interfaith Sanctuary’s permits for a State Street location earlier this month.

Tuesday, the council did not put the request up for a vote or further consideration.

“This is always one of our weird things, it’s how our procedure works,” Mayor Lauren McLean said. “It’s like awkward silence with no motion.”
