The city Departments of Transportation and Design and Construction are looking to demap part of a Maspeth street, officials said at last Wednesday’s Community Board 5 meeting at Christ the King High School in Middle Village.
The agencies seek to demap an unbuilt portion of 57th Drive between 58th Place and 59th Street, a dead-end street now used by the DOT’s Sign Shop for parking. The rectangular segment is about 50 feet wide and 75 feet deep, Robert White of the consulting firm AKRF said.
